JUDO
The gentle art of throwing people — hard.
Discover Judo in Irving: Throws, Falls and Confidence.
Judo is a martial art that’s all about skill, timing, and leverage—not brute strength. Designed to teach control, confidence, and explosive movement, Judo offers one of the most elegant and effective paths into martial arts. Whether you’re aiming to compete, get in shape, or just learn how to fall (and throw) safely, this is the place to start.
What Is Judo?
Founded in Japan in the late 1800s, Judo (which means “the gentle way”) focuses on taking your opponent off balance, executing powerful throws, and controlling them on the ground. It’s an Olympic sport, a self-defense system, and a whole-body workout—all rolled into one.
You’ll train how to use your opponent’s energy against them and develop incredible body control, balance, and awareness in the process.
